The central figure of the much-talked-about “Wedding of the Century,” renowned for its $56 million price tag, has taken down her TikTok account amidst controversy surrounding her new husband’s legal issues.
Wedding of the Century
Madelaine Brockway, a 26-year-old heiress from a Florida car dealership family, gained widespread attention for sharing extravagant glimpses of her five-day November wedding celebration in Paris. However, the focus has now shifted from the opulent festivities to the groom, Jacob Chase LaGrone, as public sentiment sours in light of allegations against him.
LaGrone, 29, faces charges of aggravated assault against a public servant arising from an incident in Texas on March 14, where he allegedly fired shots at responding officers. The officers had been called to address a disturbance at the location.
According to the indictment, LaGrone is accused of “intentionally and knowingly threatening imminent bodily injury” and “using or exhibiting a deadly weapon during the assault, namely, a firearm.” During a recent court appearance, potential consequences were discussed, including a life sentence if convicted.
While Brockway did not attend the hearing at Tarrant County District Court, her husband has been presented with a plea deal, offering a 25-year sentence in exchange for a guilty plea, thus avoiding a trial.
