Noel Night brightens Detroit’s cultural district this Saturday
Christmas caroling, twinkling holiday lights and festive decorations will grace Detroit’s annual holiday celebration, Noel Night, this Saturday. The 49th edition of this magical event will unfold at the Midtown Detroit and Cultural Center from 5-10 p.m. Attendees can enjoy holiday shopping at local businesses, explore pop-up winter markets, participate in family make-and-take crafts, a visit with Santa, food trucks and drinks You can taste the offerings from the stands, and there is over 80 pieces of music, theater and entertainment. Area dance groups, according to a news release.

According to Sue Mossey, Executive Director of Midtown Detroit Inc., “Noël Night has become a beloved tradition that celebrates the magic of the holiday season and showcases the incredible array of small, unique businesses, restaurants, bars and cultural center institutions ” “Our city is pretty remarkable,” I said.
More than 100 venues and cultural institutions, including the College for Creative Studies, Detroit Public Library, Detroit Institute of Arts, Michigan Science Center, MOCAD, Wayne State University and local small businesses, will open their doors for this highly anticipated event. Special art activities include ice sculpture by students from Wayne State University and the College for Creative Studies, directed by ice guru Randy Finch at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Food and beverage options, from food trucks to full-service restaurants, will be available throughout the event, along with an appearance by Santa. Woodward Avenue will be open to traffic, and free shuttle services will run between participating locations from 5 p.m. till 10:30 pm
